Abstract

All significant synthetic works about Baroque sculpture art mentioned the Prague sculptor Petr Prachner (1744-1807) as one of the last great artists of the late 18th century. In addition to his best -known undertaking, the decorated altarpiece of the Infant Jesus of Prague in the Church of Our Lady Victorious in the Lesser Town, additional works were ascribed to him, not only in Prague but also in the rest of the Kingdom of Bohemia.

At the same time, experts debated about his study stays in London and Mannheim. As a result of my several -year archival research, much traditional information in Prachner's profile can be specified or refused and the missing can be added.

Moreover, his inspirations from abroad can be better explained and further works can be ascribed to him based on style analysis.
