Poster presents the original analysis of fish bone and scale remains found during the systematic exacavation of the rural early medieval site at Bajč-Medzi kanálmi. It brings the basic information on the site, research aims, sampling and recovery of the finds.
The presented results include fish speciesrepresentation, fish size estimation, consumption of fish meat and the seasonality of fishing. Pikes and carps seem to dominate the assemblage of freshwater fishes.
The scale analysis pointed to the fishing season from April till October.
