Predictive Validity of State Secondary-School Leaving Exam and Entrance Exams to the Faculty of Education

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the process of entrance exams at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, with the overall description, including the specifics of individual fields of study. It also presents the concept of the state secondary school-leaving exam, not only in the Czech Republic, but also in other European countries, such as England, Scotland and France.

It focuses on the predictive validity of the state secondary school-leaving exam and entrance exams to the faculty. The data were collected from students of the Czech language and literature, English language and literature and Special Education who were accepted to university for academic years 2016/2017 and 2017/2018.
