The paper attempts to present an actual archaeological understanding of Iron Age societies based on this research in broader context: an overview of the socio-political models and their theoretical principles not coming only from the archaeological evidence but also from closely related disciplines such as cultural anthropology, urban studies or palaeoeconomy. This multidisciplinary approach enabled to reveal numerous features of the Celtic social stratigraphy and contributed to better understating of social structure in the La Téne period.
The existing results and related questions will be discussed within the paper, in connection with the key study of the La Téne sites in Czech Republic and the proposed methodology of my dissertation thesis.
