Abstract
In my presentation I intend to address the topic of anthropogenic origin of fire disasters in the 15th century Chosŏn Kingdom, focusing particularly on arson cases in the urban area of the Hansŏng 漢城 capital city, including brief introduction to the origins of presumably the first government-organized firefighting institution (Kŭmhwadogam, 禁火都監) which was established after a great fire of Hansŏng in 1426.
