Efforts to "manage one's own affairs" in the Czech lands of the High Middle Ages

Abstract

The author is looking for the first traces of self-government as "a way of managing a certain entity, when a given entity decides on at least some of its affairs by itself in an autonomous manner, i.e. "governs itself", in the Czech state of the High Middle Ages. These efforts were first manifested in the environment of the Bohemian magnates surrounding the monarch already during the reign of the Přemysl princes.
