The following text analyses space litter as an environmental problem and puts forward a pragmatically responsible, cosmopolitan-oriented policy to actively remove it. Our argument starts from the environmental legal framework, or its extension to the extraplanetary sphere, and approaches the issue of space debris from a position that is already legally established.
For us, the extension of the environmental legal framework from the planetary to the extra-planetary is a position that has the potential to resonate strongly in the current geopolitical climate
