Comprehension of mathematical word problems in pupils with ASD - a case study

Abstract

The paper presents the conclusions of a qualitative research study focused on the analysis of the word problem processing in 6 pupils with ASD and their comparison with peers with typical development. It emphasizes the fact that reading comprehension can be a key factor in the successful processing of a mathematical task, regardless of the level of the pupil's mathematical skills.
