Abstract
The paper discusses the options available and makes an assessment of the solution reached already under the French Presidency at the end of 2008. Summary: development of composition of the Commission and its reasons: starting position, influence of the rise of number of the Member States, „etatization“ of the Commission, „parlamentarization“ of the Commission, comparation with the Court of Justice; alternative solutions following the outcomes of ratification of the Lisbon Treaty: before its intended entry into force, standard and alternative implementation of the Nice-rule, solution within the Council, redress through Treaty revision, another possibilities.
