Transformation of integrated library system in Charles University in Prague : conversion to the centralised library information system

Abstract

An article describes migration of libraries in the Charles University in Prague from local library systems to centralised model. The centralised system is based on ILS ALEPH 500 and consists of one bibliographic base, one base of users and several authority bases.

The article interprets proccess and methodology of conversion and enumerates advantages and disadvantages of used model.
