Abstract
The article is focused on the role of intellectual elites represented in local municipal administration in Czech towns during the Thirty Years War. It consists of two parts: 1) the analysis of the number of literary active municipal councillors in Czech royal towns; 2) considerations concerning the metamorphosis of the role of municipal scriveners.
