Abstract

Oncological wounds, their care and treatment are an integral part of the comprehensive oncological care provided to our patients. They require a multidisciplinary approach.

In addition to the oncologist, the team should include a health worker with special professional or specialized competence in wound care, as well as other expertise with regard to the type of wound and patient complications (e.g. radiotherapist, dermatologist, nutritional therapist, paliatrist, etc.). The care of patients in the terminal phase of an oncological disease without the possibility of specific treatment and with care in home or hospice care, also requires increased attention and support whit the goal of relief from symptoms.
