Abstract
The presentation evaluates the position of physical education in the recent Czech society. The author deals mainly with the disrepancy of a high formal importance of physical eductaion and its informal very low prestige.
As partial topics author deals with an exemtion from physical education, active participation in physical education, evaluation in physical education and material bacground of physical education.
