H.H. Knaus (1892-1970), a professor of gynaecology and obstetrics and a university clinic director, was one of the most famous members of the faculty of medicine of the German University in Prague (co-author of the so called Knaus-Orgino contraceptive method of infertile days, among others).
The paper deals with his career during the Nazi period. Professor Knaus was one of very few members of the faculty who retained not only their high professional level, but also ethical standards of their profession and personal life even during the 'brown' era.
