Abstract: According to the World Health Organization, the well-being of university students is essential for collective and individual ability of students to think, perceive emotions, cooperate with each other, earn make a living and experience the joy of life. From this perspective, both the protection and restoration of mental health, thus, the development of students' well-being is considered a fundamental interest not only of individuals, but especially of communities and companies around the world.
The article presents the possibilities of active support of health and well-being students of Czech universities and colleges within the framework of distance education, as special institutions exceeding the boundaries of focusing on students from a purely academic point of view (e.g. on motivation student to study) to the need to also develop the academic well-being of all students (e.g. building well-being through adopting the principles of a healthy lifestyle).
