Abstract
Portuguese writer, left-wing thinker and Nobel laureate, José Saramago (1922-2010), would have celebrated his centenary this year. The Department of Portuguese Studies of the FF UK in cooperation with the Portuguese Center will commemorate his personality and work with a series of lectures with an accompanying program and above all the film series "Ciclo cinema e literatura".
The "Year of Saramag" was launched with a lecture on the author's life and work and a screening of the first of the films.
