The essay investigates and compares the forms of graduation ceremonies in the Middle Ages and early New Age, which during long centuries preserved an unvariable course. It was in fact a part of a terminal examination, which culminated by a bestowing of an academic degree and by a raising of the candidate.
The course of graduation ceremony had a 'verbal' form; till since 16th century infiltrated concluding written theses (dissertations). Ceremonies of doctoral, magisterial and bachelor graduatiens was similar by it´s festival and ceremonial used cours, whisch often completed or succeeded academic diplomas.
