Abstract
The study deals with description and analysis of memoirs of physicians (mostly outstanding scientists or university teachers) and their patients in the Czech Lands in teh 19th and 20th centuries (both published and unpublished) in the broader context of private sources in general (ego-histoire, memoirs, diaries, letters, oral history, interview etc.)
