Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. These five Central Asian countries rarely get the Czech public's attention, usually only in cases of changes in the presidential posts.
However, the ways of these changes may tell a lot about the political regimes of these countries. The article describes the specific characteristics of the regimes of these countries, using the transitions from one president to another (which in some of the countries has happened only once since 1990) as an example of such differences.
