This paper deals with procedures applied by the Prague Court of Appeals in the last third of the 17th century using session minutes from the major and lesser chambers of the Court of Appeals, supplemented by sentencing records and partial research of one of the city archives. This study proposes both qualitative and quantitative objectives.
The qualitative part of the analysis seeks to define the range of agenda under the major and minor chambers of the Court of Appeals and determine their jurisdiction. The quantitative section of research is then meant to ascertain the session frequency of both chambers and their composition.
Data obtained will then be compared with legislation relevant to the function and organisation of the Court of Appeals during the period under study.
