Abstract
The authors deal with the public health in the first Czechoslovak Republic, its oragnization, structure, reforms, and efficiency. Both solid grounds and principles of the system, inherited from the pre-war period and reforms made during the 1920s-1930s had a positive impact on changes in health of the population.
