Abstract
The contribution deals with the criminal and administrative liability in the field of environmental protection in the Czech legal regulation. It is focused mainly on the problems with punishment of environmental crimes and misdemeanours and its effectiveness.
Special attention is dedicated to the possible consequences with other categories of crimes and especially to the liability of legal persons. In the conclusion remarks there are even some ideas "de lege ferenda".
