The text presents a fragment of current research concerning the beginnings of Polish language teaching in the Czech Republic. Its subject is the analysis of two textbooks on the Polish language for Czechs published in the 1930s.
The first of them is the publication Polsky v 1000 slovech (Prague 1930) by Miroslav Zelenka, the second - Učebnice polštiny (Prague 1932) - was written by Bohumil Vydra. The article will discuss both the structure of the analyzed publications, their content, but also the applied didactic methods.
Presented textbooks and their authors will become a source of information not only on history of Polish language teaching in the Czech Republic, but also on Czech-Polish contacts in the pre-war period.
