The inner life and its outside: Edith Stein in the context of early phenomenology

Abstract

The thesis developed here is that Edith Stein's central philosophical achievement is to have initiated a mediation between the positions of Husserl and representatives of the Munich-Göttingen phenomenology, but also with regard to Heidegger, and that her attempt at mediation aims at nothing other than the problematic of the inner life as the initial area of contact with the world.
