Abstract
The paper introduces the project of faculty schools of the Faculty of Mathematics and
Physics of the Charles University; whose important aim includes the support of gifted pupils of secondary or elementary schools as well as their teachers. The project intentions and some particular examples of the implemented activities are mentioned.
The second example of working with gifted pupils is the long-term cooperation of the Department of Physics Education with Mensa Gymnasium in teaching optional seminars in physics.
