Iconoclastic Controversies, global in its implications yet local in focus, critically analyses the relationship between the memorials and commemoration sites located in the south of the island and the antagonistic nationalism that exacerbated the conflicts on the island. The Iconoclastic Controversies project also aims to discuss the discursive-material relationship, deconstruct and de-naturalise the Greek Cypriot hegemonic antagonistic-nationalist discourse, and rethink the ways of scholarly communication by moving away from an exclusive emphasis on the written text.
