The study contributes to a closer knowledge of one of the ways of enriching the lexicon - creating words through composition. It emphasizes the fact that composition and composites (especially selected types) occupy an important place in the vocabulary of Slavic languages and, compared to derivation and synthetic derivatives, in recent decades they have strengthened their position in various types of communications.
It points out the heterogeneity of the names of the analyzed types of composites and at the same time presents the theoretical starting points applied to composites and the components of their word-forming structure. In the study, nine components are processed in the form of separate passwords, which combine somatic meaning and position in the initial position.
Processing of passwords is based on extensive research of lexical material in neological sources, national corpora and lexicographic works of three languages - Slovak, Polish and Czech. Passwords are also a starting point for a multi-faceted description of somatic components (mainly in terms of meaning, polysemy, origin, variability) as well as illustrative lexical material (primarily in terms of compositeness, neologism, orthographic variability, belonging to communication registers).
