Abstract

This paper focuses on the issue of university students with specific learning difficulties. We answered two research questions based on analysing the files of the Academic Counselling Centre of the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University (obtained between 2015 and 2020).

First, we were interested in students' motivation for inclusion in the group of students with special needs. Subsequently, we analysed the frequency of recommended modifications in the learning process that students with specific learning disabilities can benefit from.

The results showed that students most frequently used the free copying and printing service and the access to electronically editable documents. For testing, the most common recommendations were extra time and the possibility of written preparation before the oral examination.

Through a case study in the final section of the paper, we illustrate the process of setting appropriate modifications with a medical student.
