This article is devoted to the issue of deposit claims insurance with a focus on the specific problems of municipal and regional deposits. In order to understand the issue of insurance, the article first explains it in general terms - it explains what this institution entails, when it is used and how it works.
Next, the article introduces the relevant legislation on which deposit claims insurance is based. This is followed by a description of the procedures of the relevant state institutions - i.e. the Czech National Bank and the Financial Market Guarantee System.
The article then turns to the insurance of deposit claims directly with municipalities and regions. It explains the specifics of deposit claims insurance for municipalities and regions, the conditions under which this insurance arises and the resulting problematic situations that may arise in practice.
The article also proposes theoretical solutions to these situations.
