Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate what effects can be expected in the Czech Republic in case of approval of the comprehensive package of legislative and other "Fit for 55" proposals submitted by the European Commission in July and December 2021 from a macroeconomic perspective.
The study partially reflects the effects of the war conflict between Russia and Ukraine, in particular the impact on the projected price of fossil fuels; package measures REPowerEU are not reflected. The aim of this study is to provide expert background for a discussion regarding the setting of domestic policies so that the Czech Republic meets its climate targets obligations arising from existing and proposed EU legislation, but also to take advantage of it growth potential of this transformation, while flexibly responding to social impacts and thus ensured a just transition.
