Abstract
The post dealt with the description, digitization and opening of the old globe by Josef Jüttner from 1839, which comes from the depository of one of the most important Central European collections. The aim of the authors was to prepare the procedure for making the metadata available and 3D models of the new virtual collection for the Map collection of the Faculty of Science, Charles University.
It was made a unique description of the globe and it was created a new (user) metadata from the bibliographic description to provide information about the globe and its 3D model. The metadata and the 3D model of the globe have been connected and made available to the general public on the globe page of the Map collection of the Faculty of Science, Charles University.
