Abstract

Year 1897 is often presented as a peak of national violence in Cisleithania. It was a terrible experience for the victims, who often reflected their own identity following the violent events.

There identities were often not corresponding to the press. This differentiation is the main point of analysis of this paper presented at the GRACEH conference
