The use of the snoezelen method in kindergartens for children with special educational needs

Abstract

The paper deals with the possibilities of using the multifunctional Snoezelen method in normal kindergartens for children with special educational needs (SEN). This article presents a qualitative case study conducted in two special kindergartens that use sensory stimulation in the Snoezelen room.

The interviews were conducted with the special educators and teaching assistants. Observation of the children's stimulation in the Snoezelen room was carried out.

The conclusions present examples of good practice using the Snoezelen method with children enrolled in a special kindergarten. They offer possible applications for children with SEN in normal kindergarten.
