Clean and tidy corridors, staircases, cellars and other common areas are one of the prerequisites for a good quality of life in apartment buildings. Therefore, many associations of unit owners are faced with the question of how to deal with cleaning and other necessary services, such as the balancing of garbage cans in front of the building.
A relatively simple solution seems to be to divide these services among the individual unit owners in the building (or possibly among the lessees of the units). For example, each owner would be responsible for cleaning the common areas once a month.
Such a distribution of services is not unique in practice, but the widespread use of a particular practice does not automatically mean that the practice in question is lawful, which is discussed in more detail in the present article.
