The main aim of the paper is to present to the professional public the key results of the research, which was carried out for two years in the environment of a children's home. Using qualitative research methods, we explored the possibilities of music education for contemporary special education.
We were able to identify a number of areas in which music education can play a significant role in special education intervention. Based on our findings, we discuss the need for close interdisciplinary collaboration and outline possible adjustments to the distribution of music education not only for children from children's homes but also for children with special educational needs.
