The European Commission published a new Framework for State aid for research and development and innovation at the fall 2022. At the same time, significant changes were made in the
General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) allowing bigger support for research and development in enterprises. The main purpose of our contribution is to describe main differences between the new Framework and amended GBER and their predecessors as well as to discuss their potential impact on the Czech RDI policy. We conclude that the new state aid regulation should mean no major changes with respect to the Czech RDI policy neither on the national nor on the institutional level.
