The aim of the methodology is to systematically assess the development trends of segregation throughout the Czech Republic. The results of the assessment of development trends highlight the unfavorable development of segregation trajectories, inform about the persistence of long-term patterns of segregation and enable the assessment of the impact of public policies on social inclusion and the fight against poverty, marginalization and segregation.
The methodology is based on a standardized and annually repeated assessment of segregation trends, comparing the current year with previous developments. The methodology uses a unique dataset on the recipients of the subsistence allowance provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic and assesses the entire territory of the Czech Republic through individual development trajectories at the level of localities, municipalities (including city districts and wards), administrative districts of municipalities with extended competence (SO ORP) and regions, and the resulting development of urban and regional disparities.
