Participants of the conference Societies in historical and comparative perspective will delve into the past and the distance - thirteen presenters will speak about the foundations of the field of historical sociology. The topics of the presentations will range widely - from the role of witchcraft processes in early modernisation to the transformation of the role of the animal as labour force in Western civilisation to the class and economic structure of Czech society after 1989.
The conference is organized by Marek Německý from the Department of Sociology at the FHS.
