In recent years, in response to lower student numbers and a lack of workers in specific professions, an approach based on the integration of natural sciences with mathematics, technology/engineering, and mathematics (STEM) has come to the forefront in the field of education. This approach is still overlooked in the Czech Republic.
For this reason, the intended course gives participating students and teachers the opportunity to gain valuable experience with this approach. Therefore, colleagues from Finland and Austria, who have deep experience with this approach, are partners.
The proposed program builds on the BIP implemented last year. In its updated form, one of the partners has been changed, leading to a shift towards mathematics and the addition of the technical component of 3D printing technologies, thus also considering the artistic aspect of STEAM.
The intensive workshop consists not only of a series of lectures and workshops based on independent work by nationally mixed groups of students but also includes online pre- and post-phases and student participation in an international conference traditionally organized at Charles University, Faculty of Education.
