Abstract
The brand new EU regulation MiCA represents, without exaggeration, a revolution for the hitherto almost unregulated world of crypto-assets. For providers of related services, such as crypto exchanges, the regulation establishes the requirement to obtain a permit, ongoing supervision and requires the fulfillment of obligations known from the areas of "traditional" financial regulation.
The following lines are devoted to the categorization of individual services, as well as the key requirements for their provision. The article also mentions the specifics of the permit regime.
The conclusion brings an assessment of the effects that the regulation can have both for the providers themselves and for this system as a whole.
