Mystical Structures of the Imaginary or Durandian Reflection of Van Gogh's "Green Wheat Field"

Publication

Abstract

The talk exposes and develops Durand's characterization of Vincent van Gogh. Durand understands van Gogh as a certain specific "imaginative type", as a representative of one type of imaginative dreaming, which is properly manifested in van Gogh's paintings.

We examine the type of Gogh's imaginary both in the intentions of Gilbert Durand and in the polemic with him.
