Abstract
The article focuses on the issue of asylum law, which is closely related to the armed conflict in Ukraine. The question of how persons who refuse military service and seek protection in another state should be treated should be addressed.
The main frame of reference will be the relevant EU law in the light of the case law of the CJEU. The second part of the paper examines the possible application of protection under EU asylum law in favour of applicants from the Russian Federation.
