The Motif of the World in Comenius' Labyrinth of the World and Unum necessarium

Abstract

The lecture compares Comenius' conception of the world in Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart (1623) and Unum necessarium (1668). Part of the comparison is to verify the assumption that the development of Comenius' conception of the world reflects the concept of universal improvement (panorthosia) developed by Comenius in the decades between these two literary boundaries.
