Abstract
The article deals with the direct and indirect effect of EU directives in the field of labour law. In particular, it discusses the limits of the euro conform interpretation of the directives and the possibility of applying the horizontal direct effect of the directives in the relationship between employees and private employers, including the related case law of the CJEU.
