Abstrakt
The contribution will present the theater-educational project "Theatre for Democracy", which was launched in the Archa theater in Prague in January 2022, and aims at linking theater / theatre creation process and education.
Theater techniques and conventions in education have been proven to improve student engagement and motivation in learning, develop important skills such as communication and critical thinking, competencies necessary for success in the 21st century.
The main area that artists and educators dealt with during the project was the question: How to expand and cultivate competences for democratic culture through implementation of contemporary theater tools into teaching at the second level of elementary schools and high schools and how to apply these competencies (not only) in teaching situations.
