Curtailed Motherhoods and the Matrix of (Post)Colonialism: Chicana Hybrid Prototypes

Abstract

An intersectional and post/decolonial analysis of Chicana paradigmatic mythical and historical figures of femininity and motherhood, specifically La Malinche, La Llororna and La Virgen de Guadalupe. The chapter makes links of these figures's literary interpretations to the Greek mythos of Medea.
