Abstract

Vowel quantity is one of the least explored areas in the development of Czech, as it was marked irregularly in the older stages of development. In my dissertation, I therefore deal with the spelling and phonology of the Cistercian Bible (1456), which is written in diacritical spelling and can, to a high degree of reliability, reflect the pronunciation of Old Czech at the time.

In this workshop, I presented the preliminary results of my dissertation.
