Paper for the publication published for the exhibition Thinking with Film at the Prague City Gallery. The text deals with theoretical approaches to the materiality of moving image art installations in the contemporary post-digital era.
It draws primarily on the idea of kinesthetic fields by the American philosopher Thomas Nail, as well as on several other approaches in media theory and philosophy concerned with the material properties of the digital image. Presented ideas are inspired and demonstrated on selected examples of the work of contemporary Czech artist Jakub Jansa.
