The book Traders of the "Stone Age" presents the legacy of the anthropologist Leopoldo Pospíšil, who has received recognition for his research among the Papuan Kapauku. He first went to them in the mid-1950s and has subsequently returned to them repeatedly.
Pospisil affiliated his professional life with Yale University, also serving as curator of the Yale Peabody Museum, and became a recognized mind-leader of the anthropology of law. The basis of the book is photographic material that Pospíšil obtained during his researches.
