The book you are about to read is ready to guide you through the beginnings of professional writing, which is undoubtedly the creation of final and qualification papers. There is a wide range of methodological literature available that addresses different modes of scientific reasoning and focuses on methodological approaches.
References to specialist methodological publications can also be found in this text. The aim is not to provide an exhaustive overview of research methods and techniques, but rather to lay a good foundation for their subsequent selection.
Just as one cannot build a house from the roof up, one cannot build a professional text from the methodology up. It is always necessary to lay a good foundation first, and this book, I believe, will help you do that and prepare an imaginary door through which you will then walk with your own research plan and ambition to write a meaningful and high-quality professional text.
For those of you who decide to take a qualitative approach based on your goals and research questions, the final chapter, "Qualitative Research Strategies," will guide you through basic qualitative techniques and methods and show you how to work with this type of data overall. In terms of the structure of the book, we will first draw on ways of professional thinking and the scientific approach to knowledge, then space will be devoted to the question of what to write about, why to write and with what aim.
Once there is clarity about the topic and the aim, it is possible to proceed to the structure of the work and to ascertain the state of knowledge in the field, which is the content of review studies. Only then will we focus on drawing up a research plan, from which I will then refer you to other methodological literature, where it will be possible to draw specific procedures for your chosen approach.
In the case of a qualitative research plan, the last chapter will cover basic techniques for collecting and analysing qualitative data.
